{"id":288397,"date":"2025-10-09T05:05:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T05:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/288397\/"},"modified":"2025-10-09T05:05:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-09T05:05:09","slug":"wwii-era-explosive-found-at-port-of-long-beach-during-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/288397\/","title":{"rendered":"WWII-era explosive found at Port of Long Beach during construction"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A construction team made a shocking discovery at the Port of Long Beach on Wednesday afternoon when they inadvertently unearthed a World War II-era explosive device, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The eight-decade-old shell was found at one of the port\u2019s six container terminals, according to a port spokesperson. <\/p>\n<p>The Long Beach police and fire departments and the U.S. Coast Guard evacuated the terminal and established a safety perimeter, while the L.A. County Sheriff\u2019s Department Bomb Squad responded and assessed the situation.
