would love to keep Mbeumo, but United are looking to get the attacker signed up in July.

The attention will soon turn to other areas of the pitch, with reports suggesting United want to sign a midfielder on loan.

Finding a quality midfield player available in a loan move won’t be easy, and United may need to get creative in order to land a midfield addition.

Photo by Stefan Brauer/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesJadon Sancho for Felix Nmecha makes sense for Manchester United

The name of Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha has emerged as a potential midfield addition.

Reports from just a few days ago suggested that United are keen to sign Nmecha in a £41million raid this summer.

That would be a hefty outlay for United and one which may be difficult to sanction unless major sales are made.

Jadon Sancho is one player United want to sell this summer, and an exchange involving Nmecha is staring Ineos in the face.

From Dortmund’s perspective, Jamie Gittens is poised to join Chelsea, and a new left-sided winger will be needed this summer.

Sebastian Kehl played down Dortmund’s interest in Sancho earlier this summer, suggesting that they had different priorities.

That was before Chelsea ramped up their move for Gittens, though, and a left-sided wide man has suddenly become a priority again.

Sancho has impressed for Dortmund in two separate spells, and returning to the German side again surely appeals to him as he seeks to get his career back on track.

Dortmund have also just signed Jobe Bellingham, meaning Niko Kovac is stacked with midfield options right now.

Former United man Marcel Sabitzer may be at risk, but Nmecha would be a much more significant sale.

United would also need to throw some cash in Dortmund’s direction, but the idea of Sancho to Germany and Nmecha to Old Trafford certainly holds some weight.

Jason Wilcox knows Felix Nmecha well

Reports earlier this year suggested that people around the game expected United to focus on signing ex-Manchester City talents.

Jason Wilcox’s prominence at United comes after overseeing City’s academy ranks, so he has familiarity with their former talents.

United missed out on Liam Delap to Chelsea as Wilcox failed in his attempts to reunite with the striker.

Nmecha is another former City talent, and Wilcox may hope for better fortunes in this pursuit than with Delap.

Nmecha certainly fits the bill as a box-to-box midfield player who can add legs in midfield, though United must be wary of his lengthy injury history.

The 24-year-old won’t come cheap, but attempting to send Sancho back to Dortmund, either in a direct swap or two separate transactions, could help United offset some of the cost.

Manchester United want to bring in a new midfielder this summer and could call on Jason Wilcox’s
