For years I advocated for and hoped for Notre Dame to rip up the natural grass that served the university since the Stadium first opened its gates. I was looking toward the future, and saw the obvious need foe a better playing surface. <\/p>\n<p id=\"B0vyZR\">Notre Dame finally made that move for the 2014 season, and then 8 years later, they replaced it once again with new fieldturf \u2014 which will need replacing after 8 years in 2030. Except&#8230; they need to go back to grass. <\/p>\n<p id=\"aF4KWg\">While there are nostalgic points that can be made about a return to grass \u2014 those are all vastly overrated (while still being nice). In my opinion, the irish need to return to grass for one reason and one reason only&#8230; injuries. Study after study has shown there are more injuries on fieldturf than on natural grass, and I\u2019m all about player safety (which can also ensure victories). <\/p>\n<p id=\"kbgBBC\">There have been no amount of offseason events inside Notre Dame Stadium that a good grounds crew couldn\u2019t manage. It\u2019s just absurd anymore \u2014 go back to grass.<\/p>\n<p id=\"geO8l0\">Also&#8230; how do y\u2019all feel about nooners?
