Boogies, with its disco ball and its dancefloor, replaced The Whippersnapper near Henderson Avenue. It\u2019s a cocktail bar in the evenings, but by 10 p.m., it transforms into a dancing destination inspired by New York\u2019s legendary Studio 54. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Boogies opened Oct. 3, 2025, at 1806 McMillan Ave., Dallas. It is open Wednesdays through Sundays in the evenings, and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. <a href=\"http:\/\/boogiesdtx.com\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">boogiesdtx.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cafe Olivia in Addison<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Cafe Olivia is a new breakfast and lunch spot in Addison that \u201credefines the workplace caf\u00e9 for modern professionals.\u201d House-made bread is on the menu, along with sandwiches, salads, bowls and matcha. They also offer numerous vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Cafe Olivia opened Oct. 1, 2025, at 14551 Dallas Pkwy., Ste. 100, Dallas. For $25, guests can make a reservation to sip coffee while surrounded by pugs. The beverage options at CuppaPug are bottled drinks from Frisco-based Evergreen Coffee &amp; Energy for now, but soon the cafe will launch its own food and drinks, including cocktails. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">CuppaPug opened Sept. 27, 2025, at 8100 Stonebrook Pkwy., Frisco. It\u2019s open Wednesday through Sunday. <a href=\"http:\/\/cuppapug.com\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">cuppapug.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gelato La Boca in University Park<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">This Argentine gelato has been available at Commissary Market in downtown Dallas since 2023, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/02\/16\/gelato-la-boca-snider-plaza-dallas\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">its first brick-and-mortar shop<\/a> is now open in Snider Plaza. They\u2019ve got gelato flavors like dulce de leche and cold brew, and a handful of vegan sorbet flavors, too. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Gelato La Boca opened Sept. 19, 2025, at 3406 Rosedale Ave., Dallas. It\u2019s open seven days a week. <a href=\"http:\/\/gelatolaboca.com\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gelatolaboca.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hinoki in Frisco<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The team behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2023\/01\/12\/former-nobu-chef-opens-kinzo-sushi-omakase-restaurant-in-frisco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2023\/01\/12\/former-nobu-chef-opens-kinzo-sushi-omakase-restaurant-in-frisco\/\">Kinzo Sushi<\/a>, an omakase restaurant in Frisco, recently opened another Frisco restaurant called Hinoki. Hinoki is a \u201cfamily-friendly sushi spot created to fill the gap between casual dining and fine omakase,\u201d said its executive chef Leo Kekoa, who previously worked as a chef at Nobu Dallas. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Hinoki opened in September 2025 at 8050 Preston Road #106, Frisco. It\u2019s open for lunch and dinner every day but Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Michy\u2019s Chino Boricua Kitchen in Grand Prairie<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Michelle Lao, who grew up as a Chinese immigrant in Puerto Rico with restaurateur parents, opened Michy\u2019s in Houston in 2021. Her third restaurant and first in North Texas opened earlier this month in Grand Prairie. The family-owned restaurant serves \u201cwhat Puerto Rican people know as Chinese food.\u201d Think lo mein and mofongo. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Michy\u2019s Chino Boricua Kitchen opened Oct. 4, 2025, at 2155 N. TX-360 S, Grand Prairie. Both the food and the design at Norman\u2019s are inspired by the American West and post-war Japan, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2025\/08\/11\/who-is-norman-japanese-grill-new-dallas-restaurant\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to its owners<\/a>. This restaurant is casual, but reservations are a good idea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Norman\u2019s Japanese Grill is at 4002 Oak Lawn Ave., Dallas. It\u2019s open seven days a week for dinner only. <a href=\"http:\/\/normansjapanese.com\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">normansjapanese.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Rising Tides in East Dallas<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">In the spot previously occupied by East Dallas bar The Royal Pour is a new cocktail concept from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/commentary\/2023\/12\/14\/this-dallas-cocktail-whiz-quit-drinking-two-years-ago-heres-why\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Fletcher<\/a> who has a long history in Dallas\u2019 hospitality scene. Rising Tides is a neighborhood dive bar with smash burgers, beer brats, karaoke and craft cocktails, which Fletcher has become known for. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Rising Tides opened in September 2025 at 9909 Garland Road, Dallas. This place is known for its affordable tacos and wine, as its name suggests, and its menu is largely the same at the new location. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Taco y Vino opened Sept. 12, 2025, at 706 Main St., Garland.
