Or did she?<\/p>\n<p>Sports bettors are sick after her 10th assist was mysteriously pulled off of the board.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/brobible.com\/tag\/wnba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WNBA<\/a> must\u2019ve ruled the pass was tipped. But the ball never changed direction, so\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Alyssa Thomas finished with 14, 12 and 9.<\/p>\n<p>There were two different bets to be placed on Thomas\u2019 performance. The odds obviously depend on which sportsbook you choose to use.<\/p>\n<p>The first bet was more specific. \u2018Alyssa Thomas to record a triple double\u2019 hovered anywhere from +320 to +350. Most of the books that offered this bet settled at +340.<\/p>\n<p>A one dollar bet would pay out $4.40\u2014 to win $3.40.<\/p>\n<p>The second bet required a little bit of creativity and specificity. A three-leg same game parlay for Thomas to record 10+ points, 10+ rebounds and 10+ assists presented similar odds, around +320.<\/p>\n<p>Both bets fell one rebound short. Thomas finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.<\/p>\n<p>However, it appeared as though she picked up her 10th assist with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter. The 33-year-old power forward kicked out to Kahleah Copper for three. BANG!<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ice in Kahleah Copper&#8217;s veins!!! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2RSo16z3Z3\">pic.twitter.com\/2RSo16z3Z3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Phoenix Mercury (@PhoenixMercury) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PhoenixMercury\/status\/1976111381704548566?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October 9, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Alyssa Thomas passed the ball out to the perimeter and the next person who touched the ball scored. By all accounts, that should be an assist.<\/p>\n<p>The Phoenix Mercury promoted the triple double in a post on X that has since been deleted:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cALYSSA THOMAS TRIPLE-DOUBLE!!! She is the only player to have a triple-double in the WNBA Finals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wnba.com\/game\/1042500303\/LVA-vs-PHX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">box score<\/a> initially showed 14, 12 and 10. Except\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The triple double did not count and bets did not cash.<\/p>\n<p>A stat correction took Thomas\u2019 10th assist off of the board. All bets were considered a loss.<\/p>\n<p>This six-leg parlay died just one leg short:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"2018\" width=\"1083\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/alyssa-thomas-triple-double-bet-lost.jpeg\" alt=\"Alyssa Thomas Triple Double Bet\" class=\"wp-image-23832798\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>This bettor missed out on a huge pay day:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"1116\" width=\"1083\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/alyssa-thomas-triple-double-assist-bet-lost.jpeg\" alt=\"Alyssa Thomas Triple Double Bet\" class=\"wp-image-23832800\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Here is yet another example of a demoralizing loss:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"974\" width=\"1083\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/alyssa-thomas-bet-triple-double-lost.jpeg\" alt=\"Alyssa Thomas Bet Triple Double Assist\" class=\"wp-image-23832806\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>There are countless examples of this unfortunate change and how it robbed bettors of lucrative wins. Neither the books nor the league have provide an explanation for why the assist was removed.<\/p>\n<p>The only logical reason for the change stems from the pass being tipped. Kierstan Bell might\u2019ve placed the very tip of her finger the ball as it passed from Thomas to Copper\u2026 but the ball never changed direction so it was not clear. Slow-mo video does not seem to show a tip.
