Following its recent list highlighting the <a href=\"https:\/\/secrethouston.com\/best-sandwich-in-texas-houston-yelp\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secrethouston.com\/best-sandwich-in-texas-houston-yelp\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_2\" data-category=\"click_internal\">best sandwiches in the country<\/a>, the user-generated tastemaking application recently published this year\u2019s list of the best taco spots in the U.S., including multiple Houston taco joints.<\/p>\n<p>As far as methodology goes, the application sought out reviews with high concentrations of the word \u201ctacos\u201d \u2013 from there, Yelp applied a series of factors to rank the <a href=\"https:\/\/secrethouston.com\/best-breakfast-tacos-houston\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secrethouston.com\/best-breakfast-tacos-houston\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_3\" data-category=\"click_internal\">taco spots<\/a>, predominately <strong>total volume and ratings of reviews<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-28165\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"Image shows a tray of tacos on a plate with a spoon above them.\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/FotoJet-2025-10-08T162020.138-1024x683.jpg\"\/>Photo via Shutterstock <\/p>\n<p>The list makes a point to mention how tacos have trended this past year, observing that <strong>birria tacos are still hot<\/strong> across the country. Additionally, Yelp highlighted the growing trend of <strong>vampiro tacos<\/strong> \u2013 a popular Mexican street food that featured griddled tortillas that curl in a semblance to that of bat wings; hence, vampiro.<\/p>\n<p>On the list of the Top 100 Taco Spots 2025 are three Houston-area restaurants. As the state with the <strong>second most taco joints on the list at 9<\/strong>. Other Texas taquerias placing on Yelp\u2019s roundup of the best spots in the U.S. include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paprika ATX in Austin (No. 3)<\/li>\n<li>Mahi Nic in South Padre Island (No. 16)<\/li>\n<li>Taqueria &amp; Tamaleria Nuevo Leon in Carrollton (No. 30)<\/li>\n<li>Cuantos Tacos in Austin (No. 64)<\/li>\n<li>CJ\u2019s Tacos in Austin (No. 66)<\/li>\n<li>Tacos La Catrina in Austin (No. 84)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Lonestar State, however, was well behind the state of California \u2013 leading the list with <strong>45 spots<\/strong>. The No. 1 taco spot in the U.S., according to Yelp, is <strong>Birrieria Familia Castro<\/strong> in North Hollywood, California.<\/p>\n<p>Cinco de Mayo Taqueria is located at <strong>5838 Louetta Rd<\/strong>, Spring. La Cruderia can be found in Bellaire at <strong>8394 Bellaire Blvd<\/strong>.
