The documentary looks at First Lady <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/melania-trump\/\" id=\"auto-tag_melania-trump\" data-tag=\"melania-trump\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Melania Trump<\/a>, a polarizing and enigmatic political presence, and is directed by Brett Ratner, the \u201cRush Hour\u201d filmmaker whose career was derailed by #MeToo allegations. Amazon shelled out a reported $40 million for the rights to the film, a staggering payday for a documentary. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn addition to announcing the release date, Amazon shared a first-look image from the film of the First Lady staring at a tarmac from the window of an SUV. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAccording to the official description, the film \u201coffers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration \u2014 through the eyes of the First Lady-elect herself.\u201d Amazon MGM also invites viewers to \u201cstep inside Melania Trump\u2019s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family.\u201d The studio said it has \u201cexclusive footage\u201d of \u201ccritical meetings\u201d and \u201cprivate conversations.\u201d Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was one of several tech titans who made a point of making the trek to D.C. to attend Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe film will stream on Prime Video following its theatrical run. In addition, the studio said there will be an accompanying three-part docuseries, which will follow Melania Trump\u2019s as she is ferried between Trump Tower in New York City, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach and Washington, D.C., where her husband assumed power after winning the 2024 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tRatner hasn\u2019t worked on major Hollywood productions since 2017, when he was accused of sexual misconduct by six women in a\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/business\/hollywood\/la-fi-ct-brett-ratner-allegations-20171101-htmlstory.html\">Los Angeles Times expose<\/a>. Warner Bros., where he had a first-look deal, severed ties with him. The filmmaker denied the claims. Ratner\u2019s credits also include \u201cTower Heist,\u201d \u201cRed Dragon\u201d and \u201cMoney Talks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe documentary was made with Melania Trump\u2019s participation.
