The rave reception has led NASCAR fans to yearn for a sequel to Tom Cruise\u2019s Days of Thunder. Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of both F1 and Days of Thunder, has assured that a sequel to the latter will be a worthwhile wait for the fandom.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-2\" class=\"data-event\">He recently told ET Online that there are always new ways to do and see things with the evolving technologies. Bruckheimer added, \u201cTom is such a great individual. He comes up with phenomenal ideas. We will have something really exciting for the audience once we pull it together.\u201d\u00a0The original film was released in 1990 and directed by Tony Scott.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-3\" class=\"data-event\">Moreover, it isn\u2019t just Bruckheimer who has been talking about the possibility of a sequel. Christopher McQuarrie, the director of Mission: Impossible \u2013 The Final Reckoning,\u00a0revealed in an interview back in May that he has already spoken to Cruise about it.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-4\" class=\"data-event\">He <a href=\"https:\/\/thesportsrush.com\/nascar-news-nascars-hollywood-return-accelerates-as-mission-impossible-director-visualizes-days-of-thunder-sequel-in-five-seconds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\">said<\/a>, \u201cI totally know what the premise of the movie would be. In five seconds, I knew what the premise would be. I looked at the response to Top Gun: Maverick and immediately turned to Tom and said, \u2018Days of Thunder.&#8217;\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-6\" class=\"data-event\">Despite these admissions from related stakeholders, Cruise himself hasn\u2019t confirmed or denied that he will soon be assuming the role of Cole Trickle again. Yet the words of F1 director Joseph Kosinski have only fueled expectations further.<\/p>\n<p>Kosinski already has a plotline in mind for Days of Thunder 2<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-7\" class=\"data-event\">Kosinski worked with Brad Pitt in F1 and with Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick. So if anybody can bring these powerhouses together for a movie, it is him. Should F1\u00a0get a sequel, he believes that it would heavily involve the world of Days of Thunder. Interestingly, he already has a plotline in mind to make this astounding crossover happen.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-8\" class=\"data-event\">Kosinski <a href=\"https:\/\/movieweb.com\/f1-director-teases-sequel-tom-cruise-days-of-thunder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\">said<\/a>, \u201cWell, right now, it\u2019d be Cole Trickle, who was [Cruise\u2019s] Days of Thunder character, we find out that he and Sonny Hayes [Brad Pitt\u2019s character] have a past. They were rivals at some point, maybe crossed paths\u2026<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-9\" class=\"data-event\">\u201cI heard about this epic go-kart battle on Interview With the Vampire that Brad and Tom had, and who wouldn\u2019t pay to see those two go head-to-head on the track?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-10\" class=\"data-event\">Following the impact of the Netflix docuseries Drive to Survive, Formula One received a huge increase in its global fanbase. Pitt\u2019s F1 has injected a further dose of energy into the sport.
