{"id":290268,"date":"2025-10-09T21:44:19","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T21:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/290268\/"},"modified":"2025-10-09T21:44:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-09T21:44:19","slug":"san-antonios-biggest-veterans-day-celebration-returns-to-hemisfair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/290268\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio\u2019s biggest Veterans Day celebration returns to Hemisfair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 San Antonio\u2019s biggest Veterans Day celebration is returning to Hemisfair, according to a news release. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The fifth annual SA Veterans Day at Hemisfair will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The free event features a formal ceremony, live music, a resource fair with over 40 military support organizations, food and beverages, military displays and interactive experiences for all ages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">New this year is a \u201cFun Run\u201d through downtown San Antonio starting at 9 a.m., the release states. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cSan Antonio\u2019s identity as Military City, USA is rooted in the people who serve and their families who serve alongside them,\u201d said Susan Thompson, president and executive director of the Hemisfair Conservancy. \u201cCivic Park was designed to bring the city together, and there\u2019s no better place to pause, reflect, and say thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\">Yanaguana Garden, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksat.com\/news\/local\/2025\/04\/17\/hemisfairs-yanaguana-garden-ranked-among-the-10-best-public-playgrounds-in-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ksat.com\/news\/local\/2025\/04\/17\/hemisfairs-yanaguana-garden-ranked-among-the-10-best-public-playgrounds-in-us\/\">named USA Today\u2019s No. 7 Best Playground of 2025<\/a>, will be open for free play, along with the new Red McCombs Community Court in Tower Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">A special ceremony at 1 p.m. will feature the Presentation of Colors and the national anthem, the release states.
