PHOENIX \u2014 The Phoenix Police Department is investigating after a man who was found unresponsive in April died.<\/p>\n

Phoenix police identified the deceased man as 65-year-old Mark Daniel Brendmoen.<\/p>\n

Police said that Brendmoen\u2019s death was determined to be a homicide on Thursday following an autopsy.<\/p>\n

What led to Phoenix police investigating the man\u2019s death?<\/p>\n

On April 13, Phoenix police officers were called to the area of 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road<\/a> for reports of on aggravated assault around 4:21 p.m.<\/p>\n

When police arrived on the scene, they reportedly located Brendmoen bleeding from his head in critical condition.<\/p>\n

Brendmoen was transported to a nearby hospital and received multiple surgeries in order to treat a \u201csevere\u201d brain bleed.<\/p>\n

According to Phoenix police, Brendmoen died from his injuries on July 20.<\/p>\n

Police said that the autopsy determined Brendmoen suffered a brain bleed from blunt force injuries.<\/p>\n
