For those last two art world clients, Gretel designed a <a href=\"https:\/\/gretelny.com\/moma-short-form-branding\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">visual archive <\/a>of short-form promotional content and a <a href=\"https:\/\/gretelny.com\/crystal-bridges\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">members-only publication<\/a>, respectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe PMA\u2014err, PAM\u2014did not just change its name but also its logo and larger brand identity, with custom typography, a website overhaul, and a new visual identity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThis project is the result of more than a year of research, collaboration, creative development, and iteration,\u201d Ryan Moore, executive creative director and partner at Gretel, said in a statement. \u201cOur main objective was to \u2018come down the steps\u2019 by putting the museum in dialogue with its community, which is and always has been the city itself. This new identity reflects the future of the institution: more engaging, more dynamic, and more inviting to new audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPAM is far from the first institution to undergo a brand overhaul in recent years. In 2016 the Metropolitan Museum of Art <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artnews.com\/art-news\/news\/heres-the-mets-statement-about-its-new-logo-5863\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unveiled its current logo<\/a>, depicting the words The Met in all-caps red font. At the time, it was heavily criticized, with <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/2016\/02\/metropolitan-museums-new-logo-the-met.html\">one critic<\/a> calling it \u201ca red double-decker bus that has stopped short, shoving the passengers into each other\u2019s backs.\u201d Still, it escaped the kind of <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/cracker-barrel-logo-controversy-driven-161940333.html?guccounter=1&amp;guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&amp;guce_referrer_sig=AQAAADw_OKooKB8k0tmjxBf8O4_0iFOEUWb3oVyt2dQhYe5xvtJ_eGK6iWNGieeoAvkruTilzHdv_2WJkY88bPHjSYRzSx0SMHUtjMCNdJuIGXUaEKz2psOgXh0DFTlS8tbqdIj8Fmasg57kqbJIisAE80WdCiJdbjplm_sDuyTgiaqY\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bot-aided<\/a>\u2014and Trumpified\u2014firestorm that attended Cracker Barrel\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/show\/what-the-cracker-barrel-backlash-reveals-about-the-power-of-branding\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rebranding<\/a> earlier this year.
