LAS VEGAS<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The San Diego State women\u2019s soccer team erased a 2-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 tie at UNLV on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Just 2:20 into the match, San Diego State (5-2-5, 1-0-3 MW) put a shot on target, but it was called back due to offsides.<\/p>\n

Alexis Leath<\/a> took a tough shot in the 11th minute that would\u2019ve got past UNLV (3-7-4, 1-1-3 MW) keeper Hanne Breur but it just barely missed the goal.<\/p>\n

Kailey Carlen<\/a> made her first save of the night in the 16th minute on a shot by Michelle Madrid.<\/p>\n

Around the 20-minute mark, the Aztecs went on the attack, firing off four shots, three on goal, in two and a half minutes but were unable to find the back of the net.<\/p>\n

Carlen saved her second and final shot of the night, this one by Scarlette Druian, at 25:24.<\/p>\n

UNLV took the lead midway through the 34th minute on a Julia Salem goal. The Rebels\u2019 Purity Williams added on seven minutes later to make it 2-0 UNLV just over 40 minutes into the match.<\/p>\n

The San Diego State defense would not allow the Rebels to put another shot on goal for the rest of the night, allowing the offense a chance to catch up.<\/p>\n

With 100 seconds remaining in the first half, Katie Senn<\/a> kicked one up the goal line, causing Breur to dive for it but the ball went to Mia Lane<\/a>, who punched it in to pull the Aztecs within a score at halftime.<\/p>\n

Lane tried to even the score herself, having a goal called back in the 60th minute due to offsides. She put another shot on target four minutes later, but Breur saved it to keep the Rebels ahead.<\/p>\n

Lily Boudet<\/a> forced another Breur save in the 72nd minute.<\/p>\n

In the 76th minute, Alexys Ocampo<\/a> made a couple nice moves to make a UNLV defender miss before firing a rocket into the top of the net just over the outstretched arm of a diving Breur to even the score.<\/p>\n

UNLV\u2019s Felicity Garcia was given a yellow card a minute and a half later.<\/p>\n

SDSU put pressure on the Rebels in the waning minutes of the match, including a Victoria Miller<\/a> shot on goal at 86:32 but was unable to pull ahead.<\/p>\n

The Aztecs were issued a yellow card in the 89th minute and the match finished tied at two.<\/p>\n

San Diego State had more shots (22-9), shots on goal (8-4) and corner kicks (7-4) while UNLV had more saves (6-2) and fouls (14-9).<\/p>\n

THE NOTE<\/strong>
San Diego State is now undefeated in its last nine matches and moves to 5-0-5 on the season when facing unranked opponents.<\/p>\n
