No Other Choice premiered to acclaim at the Venice Film Festival in September and currently holds a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe trailer opens ominously with Korean star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/lee-byung-hun\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lee-byung-hun_1\" data-tag=\"lee-byung-hun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lee Byung-hun<\/a> \u2014 of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/squid-game-the-front-man-spinoff-lee-byung-hun-interview-1236305996\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">worldwide Squid Game fame<\/a> \u2014 assembling a 3-D-printed handgun. A staccato cut of clips from early in the movie then introduces the actor as an ordinary Korean family man who has been shaken to his core by getting laid off from his longtime job as the foreman of a paper factory. The protagonist\u2019s level-headed wife, played by beloved Korean actress Son Ye-jin, then lists the various ways the family is going to have to crimp its comfortably middle-class lifestyle until their patriarch finds new employment. As the dad goes through the motions of a desperate, seemingly unsuccessful job hunt, the wife offhandedly mentions how helpful it would be if the other leading candidates were just \u201cstruck by lightning\u201d \u2014 and as she says this, we see a dark thought forming behind Lee\u2019s eyes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cTo put food in my family\u2019s mouths, there\u2019s nothing I won\u2019t do,\u201d he then proclaims, in voice over, before uttering the title phrase, \u201cNo other choice.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe scenes that follow hint at some very Park Chan-wook-esque, visually inventive violence \u2014 handguns, a dance sequence, chainsaws and various other ravishing details \u2014 before the title card slams definitely across the screen, followed by the film\u2019s North American release date in select theaters: Christmas Day (Dec. 25, 2025).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tNo Other Choice is produced by Korean studio CJ ENM, the company behind Bong Joon-ho\u2019s multi-Oscar-winning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-features\/inside-story-parasite-oscars-history-1236147380\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Parasite<\/a>.
