{"id":291435,"date":"2025-10-10T08:03:17","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T08:03:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/291435\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T08:03:17","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T08:03:17","slug":"ground-stops-issued-at-phoenix-airport-due-to-rain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/291435\/","title":{"rendered":"Ground stops issued at Phoenix airport due to rain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014 The Federal Aviation Administration issued multiple ground stops at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Thursday due to rain.<\/p>\n<p>The most recent <a href=\"https:\/\/nasstatus.faa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">stop<\/a> was issued for departures from seven different airports coming into Sky Harbor. It was in effect from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. due to thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p>The flights were coming from areas that included San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Albuquerque, St. Louis, Dallas and Houston.<\/p>\n<p>A stop was issued earlier in the day for just the Albuquerque area. It was in effect from 2:45 to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Its affected area included central and eastern Arizona, most of New Mexico and parts of Texas.<\/p>\n<p>More than 260 flights were delayed at Sky Harbor as of about 6:20 p.m., according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/live\/cancelled\/today\/KPHX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">FlightAware.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Phoenix received an estimated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/psr\/HiResASOS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">0.01 inches of measurable rainfall<\/a> near its airport on Thursday, but <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-weather-news\/rainy-weather-flood-phoenix\/5759613\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">heavy rain was expected<\/a> throughout the end of the week and into the weekend due to remnants of Hurricane Priscilla.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KTAR923\" data-show-count=\"false\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Follow @KTAR923<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">Have a story idea or tip?
