North Carolina<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s disastrous start to the Bill Belichick<\/a><\/strong> era continued last Saturday with a 38-10 home loss to Clemson<\/a><\/strong>. The Tigers led 28-3 at the end of the first quarter, leading to Kenan Stadium being a desolate wasteland by the end of the first half.<\/p>\n

The Tar Heels are 2-3 start to the season, which actually doesn\u2019t seem that horrible. However, both wins have come against GO5 teams and the three losses (all to Power-Four teams) have come by an average of 29 points.<\/p>\n

Following Clemson<\/strong>\u2018s blowout victory over the Heels, two-time National Championship winning head coach Dabo Swinney<\/a><\/strong> was asked about Belichick\u2019s situation<\/a>. He kept it short and sweet when discussing the legendary NFL head coach.<\/p>\n

\u201cBill Belichick<\/strong> doesn\u2019t need any words of encouragement from me,\u201d Swinney said with a chuckle. \u201cHe\u2019s been doing this a lot longer than me. It\u2019s not his first rodeo. I\u2019ve seen it (empty stadiums) and lived it and that\u2019s the unfortunate side of this.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s what we all sign up for and we understand that. You gotta take the good and bad with it and just do the work everyday. Don\u2019t think there\u2019s anyone better at that than him and he\u2019s gonna show up and do the work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul Finebaum implored Belichick to \u2018step down\u2019 on Wednesday<\/p>\n

During Wednesday\u2019s edition of \u2018The Paul Finebaum Show,\u2019\u00a0Paul Finebaum<\/strong>\u00a0went in on Belichick and implored him to quit before things get even worse for the future Pro Football Hall of Famer. He also took offense to the report that Belichick took a vacation during Carolina\u2019s bye week,\u00a0which led to multiple coaches being unable to get hold of him<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not against anyone having a vacation, but I have never heard of a college football coach taking more than maybe a day off,\u201d Finebaum said. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever even heard of that.\u00a0(Steve) Spurrier<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0used to get criticized for playing golf on the Friday of the bye week.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe heard\u00a0Brian Kelly<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0talking about how on Saturday he went shopping with his wife. That\u2019s as far as it goes. Now I realize there\u2019s never been a 73-year-old coach who has a 24-year-old girlfriend and I don\u2019t really think that should be a factor here if I could offer my opinion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels like the end is near for\u00a0Bill Belichick<\/strong>, and I would suggest to Bill that he should quit now before his legacy gets worse and he becomes even more humiliated than he already is. He\u2019s on track to already become the worst college football coach ever. That\u2019s pretty bad when you\u2019re considered the greatest NFL coach as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Entering Week 7,\u00a0North Carolina<\/strong>\u00a0ranks 133rd out of 136 in the nation in total offense, averaging 263.8 yards to start the year.
