Cofounder Jayme Franklin told <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/washington-dc\/2025\/03\/18\/young-women-changing-right-wing-media-conservateur&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/washington-dc\/2025\/03\/18\/young-women-changing-right-wing-media-conservateur\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/washington-dc\/2025\/03\/18\/young-women-changing-right-wing-media-conservateur\">Axios<\/a> that their Instagram account gained 40,000 followers in the three days following Trump\u2019s election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Describing themselves as \u201cstyle aficionados and conservative politicos,\u201d the <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.theconservateur.com\/about&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theconservateur.com\/about\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theconservateur.com\/about\">editorial board<\/a> says they set out to ignite \u201ca countercultural revival among women\u201d during a time when young people are increasingly <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/09\/28\/gen-z-men-conservative-poll&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/09\/28\/gen-z-men-conservative-poll\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/09\/28\/gen-z-men-conservative-poll\">skewing right.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Over the years, Swift has found herself at odds with that very revival. Republicans have attacked the musician for endorsing Democratic candidates, with President Donald Trump writing \u201cI HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!\u201d on Truth Social last September after the superstar endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">But when Swift announced her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce in August, the right-wing struck a very different note\u2014celebrating the announcement as a \u201cblow to the woke movement,\u201d promoting natalism, and spinning theories that Swift was secretly leading a right-wing lifestyle, despite her long history of being an outspoken liberal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Although, it appears The Conservateur isn\u2019t buying into such theories. While Swift did make several references to marriage in her latest album, Redfield argues \u201cthese milestones mean nothing if they don\u2019t come with maturity and its fruits: poise, grace, forgiveness, and self-assuredness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cFear not, feminists, The Life of a Showgirl has none of that,\u201d she quipped.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Redfield went on to mourn the \u201cinnocent girl\u201d with a \u201csmall-town\u201d sound that Swift, 35, conveyed in her earlier years\u2014nearly two decades ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe can pretend Swift\u2019s latest work represents \u2018artistic growth.\u2019 But we should also be honest: what our girls listen to matters\u2014what we listen to matters,\u201d Redfield wrote.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Taylor Swift appeared on the late-night circuit to promote her new album.\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/JX734OKGWJC6PMTM2HIOKPGJLU.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"1199\"\/>Taylor Swift appeared on the late-night circuit to promote her record-breaking new album. And somewhere along the way, Taylor Swift stopped being an artist we could trust with our daughters, mentees, and even ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Redfield might not trust Swift, but it\u2019s clear her opinion isn\u2019t exactly the consensus. On Wednesday, Swift broke the record for the biggest first-week numbers ever recorded for an album, ousting Adele\u2019s 2015 release 25, <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/music\/news\/taylor-swift-breaks-adele-record-life-of-a-showgirl-album-sales-1236543292\/&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/music\/news\/taylor-swift-breaks-adele-record-life-of-a-showgirl-album-sales-1236543292\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/music\/news\/taylor-swift-breaks-adele-record-life-of-a-showgirl-album-sales-1236543292\/\">Variety reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Daily Beast has reached out to Swift\u2019s team for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Not everyone wants The Life of a Showgirl.
