{"id":292166,"date":"2025-10-10T14:38:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T14:38:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/292166\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T14:38:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T14:38:12","slug":"houstons-housing-market-for-september-more-balanced-than-previous-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/292166\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston\u2019s housing market for September more balanced than previous months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tHome affordability in the Houston region has a more balanced position in the September housing affordability report from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.har.com\/content\/department\/newsroom?pid=2202\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Houston Association of Realtors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At a glance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Single-family homes priced from $250,000 to $499,999, which accounted for more than 55% of all September sales, experienced a 1.3% decline compared to the same time last year, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>The median home price was $327,000, which is 2.1% less than last year\u2019s figure. The average price inched up 2% to $421,655, largely due to a rise in luxury home sales in September, per the release.<\/p>\n<p>Single-family home sales in the Greater Houston area performed as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$99,999 or less:<\/strong> increased 20.2%<\/li>\n<li><strong>$100,000-$149,999:<\/strong> increased 35.9%<\/li>\n<li><strong>$150,000-$249,999:<\/strong> increased 25.1%<\/li>\n<li><strong>$250,000-$499,999:<\/strong> decreased 1.3%<\/li>\n<li><strong>$500,000-$999,999:<\/strong> increased 3.7%<\/li>\n<li><strong>$1 million and above: <\/strong>increased 27.3%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Quote of note<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe past few months have brought lower mortgage rates, and it has helped boost buyer confidence,\u201d HAR Chair Shae Cottar with LPT Realty said in a statement. \u201cWe are mindful that economic uncertainty and the current government shutdown could impact the market in the weeks ahead\u2014particularly since new National Flood Insurance Program policies cannot be issued right now.
