{"id":292388,"date":"2025-10-10T16:35:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T16:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/292388\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T16:35:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T16:35:14","slug":"coastal-flood-warnings-issued-along-grand-strand-due-to-elevated-water-levels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/292388\/","title":{"rendered":"Coastal flood warnings issued along Grand Strand due to elevated water levels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(WPDE) \u2014 A Coastal Flood Warning is out for all South Carolina beaches for Friday&#8217;s high tide.<\/p>\n<p>The forecast says a crest of eight and a half feet would land in the top 10 highest historic crests for the Springmaid Pier. <\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Horry County Emergency Management announced a Coastal Flood Warning until 2 p.m. today for coastal Horry County. <\/p>\n<p>They said the areas that typically get tidal flooding will likely see that with today&#8217;s high tide. A statement by the emergency management team said that it is possible to see one to two feet of flooding above ground level. <\/p>\n<p><strong>MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/wpde.com\/features\/carolina-country-music-fest\/riley-green-carolina-country-music-festival-2026-ccmf-myrtle-beach-blake-shelton-post-malone-luke-bryan-south-carolina\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/wpde.com\/features\/carolina-country-music-fest\/riley-green-carolina-country-music-festival-2026-ccmf-myrtle-beach-blake-shelton-post-malone-luke-bryan-south-carolina\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">It&#8217;ll feel different &#8217;round here when this headliner takes the CCMF 2026 Main Stage<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Do not drive around any barricades in place,&#8221;  Horry County Emergency Management said. &#8220;Stay aware of where you park your car if you are in an area that typically sees tidal flooding.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The City of North Myrtle Beach also declared a flood warning from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. as they monitor and mitigate flooding impacts. <\/p>\n<p>Crews have been clearing beach drains and will continue to watch street conditions throughout the day, placing barricades where necessary.<\/p>\n<p>There are some safety concerns with beach access points due to erosion that has created fall hazards. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The City released these reminders: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not drive around cones or barricades marking closed streets.<\/li>\n<li>If you must drive through standing water on an open street, reduce your speed to avoid creating a wake that could impact nearby properties.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use beach walkways that have been blocked off for safety reasons.<\/li>\n<li>Be alert for drop-offs or uneven areas on the beach caused by erosion and rough surf.<\/li>\n<li>To report concerns or issues, please contact City Hall at 843-280-5555 or the Non-Emergency Dispatch Line at 843-280-5511.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SUBMIT FLOODING PICTURES BELOW:<\/p>\n<p>Check back here for updates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"(WPDE) \u2014 A Coastal Flood Warning is out for all South Carolina beaches for Friday&#8217;s high tide.
