A series of low-pressure systems will begin to bring rain chances to central New York over the weekend and early half of next week.

Only a few scattered showers are likely across the western half of the Finger Lakes Saturday afternoon, but more widespread rain showers will develop later in the evening.

Nearing sunset Saturday, rain showers are looking to move from south to north along the I-81 corridor. We’re not anticipating anything severe, but if you’re out taking advantage of the fall season, be prepared for a few raindrops!

Rain showers could linger over into Sunday morning before clearing skies are likely during the daytime Sunday.

Even though we are contending with rain showers this weekend we have to remember that it’s a good thing! Currently over 20% of the state is under a severe drought so we need all the rain we can get.

For the latest forecast and live local radar click HERE.

Temperatures this morning fell below freezing in Syracuse for the first time since April making for a very…

[23
5315,6772,746,1599,6773,159,24256,43843,17541,67,132,68,9953
0":"post-292678","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-environment","8":"tag-central-new-york","9":"tag-drought","10":"tag-environment","11":"tag-forecast","12":"tag-rain","13":"tag-science","14":"tag-showers","15":"tag-sunshine","16":"tag-temperatures","17":"tag-united-states","18":"tag-unitedstates","19":"tag-us","20":"tag-weekend
["GET
