On October 24, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heavenlyrest.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Church of the Heavenly Rest<\/a>,\u00a0an Upper East Side Gothic gem across from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/museums\/the-metropolitan-museum-of-art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Met<\/a>, will transform into a house of musical horrors for <a href=\"https:\/\/feverup.com\/m\/474360\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Candlelight: Horror Classics featuring The Conjuring Universe &amp; More<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Presented by Warner Bros. and Candlelight Concerts, the program is a live, candlelit tribute to the soundtracks that have haunted moviegoers for decades. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.highlinequartet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Highline String Quartet<\/a> will perform eerie reinterpretations of some of cinema\u2019s most recognizable scores, from The Exorcist\u2019s unnerving theme to the creeping dread of A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Shining.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RECOMMENDED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/things-to-do\/brooklyn-chamber-orchestra-presents-nosferatu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brooklyn&#8217;s premiere orchestra will be celebrating this silent film for Halloween<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Expect the sinister \u201cRun Nancy\u201d from Nightmare on Elm Street, the haunting \u201cCry Little Sister\u201d from The Lost Boys and the twisted elegance of \u201cMidnight, the Stars and You\u201d from The Shining. Music from The Conjuring, Annabelle and The Nun rounds out the night\u2014a full playlist of the sounds that make the hair on your neck stand up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be one HELL of an evening!\u201d tease the organizers. And really, how often do you get to hear Freddy Krueger\u2019s theme played beneath stained glass?<\/p>\n<p>The church\u2019s vaulted ceilings and rows of flickering candles will set the mood for an hour of musical possession.
