(WILX) &#8211; Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) honored local businesses and citizens on Thursday during the 17 Annual Champions Award Ceremony.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">14 people and four businesses received awards for their efforts in helping disabled Michiganders find stable employment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">To be considered for an award, MRS partners must have \u201chave promoted the advancement of individuals with disabilities and allowed individuals with disabilities an opportunity to demonstrate their skills, providing reasonable accommodation. Honored businesses must also serve as role models for employing individuals with disabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Four winners are based out of Mid-Michigan:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Brylea Johnson of Lansing, Matthew Crandall of Grand Ledge, Charlene Jackson from Clinton Township, and Over the Rainbow Zootopia in Eaton Rapids.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The total 18 winners were:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Kathleen McLogan \u2013 Spring Arbor<\/li>\n<li>Donald Hall \u2013 Detroit<\/li>\n<li>Clayson Cook \u2013 Montrose<\/li>\n<li>Mason Morgan \u2013 Caledonia<\/li>\n<li>Matthew Crandall \u2013 Grand Ledge<\/li>\n<li>Charlene Jackson \u2013 Clinton Township<\/li>\n<li>Brylea Johnson \u2013 Lansing<\/li>\n<li>Sarah Montney \u2013 Shepard<\/li>\n<li>Timothy Decker \u2013 Ithaca<\/li>\n<li>Katlyn Risselade \u2013 Traverse City<\/li>\n<li>Jacob Modock \u2013 Lake Orion<\/li>\n<li>Thomas Stone \u2013 Decatur<\/li>\n<li>Edward Stump \u2013 Monroe<\/li>\n<li>Teresa Bower \u2013 Muskegon<\/li>\n<li>Family Farm and Home \u2013 Big Rapids (Small Business)<\/li>\n<li>Grand Rapids Building Services \u2013 Grand Rapids (Small Business)<\/li>\n<li>Milestone Senior Services \u2013 Kalamazoo (Large Business)<\/li>\n<li>Over the Rainbow Zootopia \u2013 Eaton Rapids (Large Business)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cVocational rehabilitation plays an important role in creating opportunities and helping individuals with disabilities reach their full potential,\u201d said Sigrid Adams, Director of Michigan Rehabilitation Services. \u201cThe work of our dedicated team at Michigan Rehabilitation Services helps to ensure more workplaces are accessible and Michiganders with disabilities have the skills to pursue competitive employment opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">MRS is a state agency that helps disabled Michiganders find employment and economic stability.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">Subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilx.com\/newsletter\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wilx.com\/newsletter\/\" target=\"_blank\">News 10 newsletter<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@wilxtv\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@wilxtv\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube page<\/a> to receive the latest local news and weather.
