Carney tagged a conservative page called \u201cLibsofTikTok.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The comment has since been deleted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The \u201cLibsofDuval\u201d page later posted a video of parent advocate Yasmina White\u2019s public comment from the meeting. White compared board members wearing pink shirts that read \u201cThis Is the Turning Point\u201d to wearing white hoods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">State Representative Angie Nixon is now calling on Carney to step down. Nixon says she has received calls from parents and teachers who have been threatened because of the situation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">She spoke with News4JAX over Zoom.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cApril Carney is in a leadership position, and she needs to get thick skin,\u201d Nixon said. \u201cI have been called out by name. I have been talked down to but, you know, I am not going to target a constituent. If someone harasses me to the point where they are threatening me with violence, then I\u2019ll alert the sergeant of arms, or FDLE, or the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office. But you cannot weaponize your office simply because you\u2019re upset that you got called out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">News4JAX reached out to Carney for comment, who denied any affiliation with the account and said the claims have no basis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/carney0134\/status\/1976776741268922369\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/carney0134\/status\/1976776741268922369\">In a statement posted on X,<\/a> Carney said she doesn\u2019t care what Nixon thinks. She added, \u201cWhile I called for unity at our hostile board meetings to heal, Angie fuels false narratives with her divisive rhetoric to harm.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Carney also called Nixon a bully who slanders anyone who disagrees with her.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I frankly don\u2019t give a damn what <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AngieNixon?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@AngieNixon<\/a> thinks. <\/p>\n<p>While I am focused on school improvement and student safety, Angie Nixon wears the title of \u201cMost Inconsequential State Legislator\u201d with pride and has done nothing for Jacksonville. Instead, she chose to engage a social media account notorious for targeting and endangering private citizens by tagging it in a post that singled out parents like me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 ewwUYq\">As a parent advocate, my work has always centered on strengthening family engagement and holding elected officials accountable to their commitment to build a school system that serves every child and every need.
