{"id":293509,"date":"2025-10-11T02:25:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T02:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/293509\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T02:25:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T02:25:12","slug":"alexander-zverev-confirms-if-toni-nadal-could-be-his-new-coach-by-the-australian-open-next-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/293509\/","title":{"rendered":"Alexander Zverev confirms if Toni Nadal could be his new coach by the Australian Open next year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/profile.google.com\/cp\/Cg0vZy8xMXlnMTNoeXE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Follow us on Google Discover <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexander Zverev is looking for a switch-up in his coaching team amid poor form on the ATP Tour.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The German, still ranked third in the world, has endured a difficult second half to the season, crashing out in the early stages of several tournaments, including Wimbledon and the US Open.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/arthur-rinderknech-reveals-the-tactic-he-used-to-beat-alexander-zverev-in-shanghai-its-not-what-hes-best-at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zverev\u2019s Asian swing ended in disappointment<\/a>, having bowed out in the third round of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/Shanghai-Masters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shanghai Masters<\/a> to Arthur Rinderknech.<\/p>\n<p>One potential candidate to become his next head coach is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/rafael-nadal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rafael Nadal<\/a>\u2018s uncle, Toni Nadal, whom the 28-year-old trained with in the summer. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2238071060-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Alexander Zverev of Germany reacts against Daniil Medvedev in the Men's Singles Quarterfinals on day 8 of 2025 China Open at National Tennis Center.\" class=\"wp-image-133967\" \/>Photo by Lintao Zhang\/Getty ImagesAlexander Zverev discusses potential appointment of Toni Nadal<\/p>\n<p>In July, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/alexander-zverev-spotted-in-training-with-high-profile-coach-following-his-first-round-exit-at-wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zverev worked with Nadal<\/a> for a brief period in Mallorca ahead of the North American hard-court swing.<\/p>\n<p>He spent 10 days with him, and said it was an \u2018amazing\u2019 experience, before revealing he was trying to convince the Spaniard to spend more weeks with him.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/tennis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sky Sports<\/a> recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zverev<\/a> issued an update on their current relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are in touch,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are talking a lot about what next year could possibly look like. But so far, there is no news, and I will update you guys when I know more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked what he would like next year to look like, he responded: \u201cI would like him to come to Australia with me to start, so we will see!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2154959085-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Toni Nadal seen watching Rafael Nadal play at the 2024 US Open\" class=\"wp-image-129022\" \/>Photo by Jean Catuffe\/Getty ImagesWhat Toni Nadal has previously said about Alexander Zverev<\/p>\n<p>Nadal has been vocal in the past about where Zverev can improve his game.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sport.de\/video\/en580790\/nadal-sah-zverevs-problem-schon-vor-wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sport.de<\/a> in July, the legendary coach said: \u201c[With] Zverev it\u2019s a mental problem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor example last year when he played against [Carlos] Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final, he won the third set and start the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this moment he knows he plays against Alcaraz, Alcaraz is a wonderful player. This is a moment when you have to put a lot of attention in these first games. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this moment Zverev played, in the first game, he was in troubles with his team, he started to talk, and within 10 minutes it was 4-0 or 4-1 to Alcaraz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what can happen.
