MTN Nigeria is stepping up efforts to transform the country\u2019s digital landscape with a bold plan to extend its fibre network to more than eight million homes by 2028 \u2014 a move set to redefine broadband access for millions.<\/p>\n
The initiative comes as part of the telecom giant\u2019s broader push to bridge connectivity gaps and fast-track Nigeria\u2019s digital transformation under the government\u2019s National Broadband Plan<\/strong> and Digital Economy Policy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Rather than relying solely on existing infrastructure, MTN is adopting a community-driven rollout strategy that brings together state governments, infrastructure firms, and local contractors<\/strong> to accelerate fibre deployment. The company said this partnership model would make broadband expansion more sustainable and inclusive, especially in underserved regions.<\/p>\n Nigeria\u2019s rapid population growth, urban sprawl, and rising appetite for data-intensive services like remote work, streaming, and online education have intensified the demand for fast, reliable internet.
