The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the two people detained were taken to the Police Memorial Building to be interviewed.<\/p>\n
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 One person is dead, another is in critical condition, and two others were detained following a shooting in Jacksonville’s Brentwood area Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
JSO Sgt. Matthews said just after 10 p.m., patrol officers were sent to the 900 block of West 23rd Street in reference to the shooting.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, Matthews said officers found two males suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were taken to a local hospital, where one died from his injuries and the other remains in “critical, but stable condition,” according to Matthews.<\/p>\n
Matthews further told First Coast News that two people were detained and taken to JSO’s headquarters downtown to be interviewed.<\/p>\n
The circumstances surrounding the incident and the relationships of those involved is unknown, said Matthews, who added that the incident is believed to be isolated.<\/p>\n
JSO’s homicide and crime scene units are actively investigating the incident, Matthews said.<\/p>\n
