{"id":295201,"date":"2025-10-11T17:29:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T17:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/295201\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T17:29:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T17:29:09","slug":"driver-flees-scene-after-hitting-pedestrian-crashing-into-car-on-west-side-sapd-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/295201\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver flees scene after hitting pedestrian, crashing into car on West Side, SAPD says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 A driver allegedly struck a pedestrian sitting on a bicycle and crashed into a car before fleeing the scene early Saturday morning on the West Side, according to San Antonio police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The crash happened around midnight Saturday in the 6500 block of Northwest Loop 410 access road at Ingram Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">A black 2022 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound at a \u201chigh rate of speed\u201d when the driver lost control near a turnaround island beneath Northwest Loop 410, according to a Saturday SAPD preliminary report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The Mustang struck a raised curb, drove onto the island, and hit a man who was sitting on his bicycle, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">After the impact, the report states the Mustang crossed onto oncoming traffic and collided with a black 2013 Audi sedan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The driver did not stop to render aid or provide information to the Audi driver, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">SAPD said that officers later found the Mustang abandoned behind a nearby shopping center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">When found, police said the Mustang driver will face one count of collision involving injury and one count of collision involving damage to a vehicle exceeding $200.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 kNAFkD cuqaEv article-text\"><b>Read also:<\/b> <\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p>Copyright 2025 by KSAT &#8211;
