Socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani<\/a> was chased out of downtown Manhattan\u00a0by an enraged protester who slammed him as an \u201cantisemite\u201d\u00a0\u2014 and got into a shoving match with the politician\u2019s staffer.<\/p>\n

The Democratic nominee<\/a>\u00a0was ushered by security into his car as the\u00a0irate man followed,\u00a0demanding\u00a0Mamdani\u00a0denounce Hezbollah and Sharia, video shows.<\/p>\n

Mamdani did not appear to acknowledge the man\u00a0Friday\u00a0as he raced out of Foley Square following a protest where he stood in support of state Attorney General Letitia James<\/a> as she faces accusations of committing mortgage fraud.<\/p>\n

\u201cAntisemite! Denounce Sharia law! Denounce Hezbollah! You can\u2019t do it!\u201d the man can be heard shouting as he approaches the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cWalk the narrow or you\u2019re going to jail with Tish!\u201d the unidentified man, carrying what appears to be a Trump flag, screams before the car peels out of the area.<\/p>\n

A member of Mamdani\u2019s team intervened when the man walked too close to the black\u00a0SUV\u00a0and shoved him away just as the man screamed Mamdani is a \u201cf\u2013king rat.\u201d<\/p>\n

The protester\u00a0got into a shoving match with the staffer\u00a0until another Mamdani supporter peeled the\u00a0employee\u00a0away.<\/p>\n

Public advocate Jumaane Williams, who was not engaged in the mayhem, approached the camera to capitalize on the attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the good things is we\u2019re out here to allow people like this to do this. In an authoritarian regime, they\u2019d be thrown away, but we protect everybody \u2014 including them,\u201d Williams says\u00a0in the clip\u00a0before throwing up a peace sign.<\/p>\n

The man was apparently demanding answers from Mamdani after he\u00a0used the second anniversary of Hamas\u2019 Oct. 7 terror attack<\/a>\u00a0to blast the Israeli government for launching a \u201cgenocidal war\u201d in Gaza, for which the US \u201chas been complicit through it all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mamdani accused the Jewish state and Prime Minister Netanyahu of apartheid against the Palestinian people, drawing intense rage from both Democrats and Republicans.<\/p>\n

The mayoral frontrunner, who did not immediately return a call for comment on the\u00a0Foley Square incident, has been denounced for refusing to disavow his past use of the phrase \u201cglobalize the intifada\u201d \u2014 but has taken great pains since to emphasize his support for Israel and denounce antisemitism.<\/p>\n

The confrontation came just moments after Mamdani defended James against the Trump administration,\u00a0calling\u00a0mortgage fraud\u00a0accusations\u00a0against her politically motivated vengeance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a blatant miscarriage of justice. This is a shameless act of political retribution,\u201d Mamdani seethed about the\u00a0federal\u00a0charges of bank fraud and making a false statement to a financial institution unveiled Thursday against James.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd instead of prosecuting Tish James for doing her job, Donald Trump should be doing his.\u201d<\/p>\n

James won a civil judgment against the president and Trump Organization last year for inflating the value of his real estate empire, leading to $355 million in penalties that were ultimately\u00a0thrown out after an appeal\u00a0and Trump\u2019s white-hot ire.<\/p>\n
