PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A woman shot and killed her ex-boyfriend after he reportedly forced his way into her apartment in south Phoenix on Friday night.<\/p>\n
At about 11:25 p.m., first responders were dispatched to a call of threats made at an apartment near 32nd Street and Southern Avenue<\/a>.<\/p>\n When officers arrived, they found a woman outside with her two children, and she told them that she had shot her ex-boyfriend and that he was still inside her apartment. <\/p>\n Police entered the unit and found the man, described as in his late 20s, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. <\/p>\n Detectives said the man and the woman had recently ended their relationship, and he \u201ccame over\u201d and \u201cforced his way into the apartment,\u201d before the woman shot him.<\/p>\n The woman spoke with investigators and was released after detectives consulted with the Maricopa County Attorney\u2019s Office, according to police. <\/p>\n This incident remains under investigation, and a charging decision will be made once it is complete. <\/p>\n Police are working to notify next of kin.<\/p>\n See a spelling or grammatical error in our story?
