PHOENIX \u2014 A man was shot and killed after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home Friday night, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
The Phoenix Police Department said the shooting happened near 32nd Street and Southern Avenue at around 11:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

When officers got to the house, they found the woman outside with her two children. She told the officers she had shot the man.<\/p>\n The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n Police said preliminary information suggests that the two had recently ended a relationship. The man came over to the woman’s apartment and forced his way inside when the woman then reportedly shot the man.\u00a0<\/p>\n “After consulting with the Maricopa County Attorney\u2019s Office on this case, the woman was released,” officials with the Phoenix Police Department said. “This investigation remains active.
