Know someone running the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon<\/a> and want to see how they’re doing?<\/p>\n

For the spectators hoping to catch a glimpse of a friend or family member along the\u00a026.2-mile route<\/a>, finding where they’re at can seem daunting as thousands of runners race through miles of city streets. <\/p>\n

And those watching from home, hoping to see their loved one complete the race, might wonder when their loved one is nearing the finish line. <\/p>\n

The good news is that spectators and supporters can track runners live.<\/p>\n

How to track a runner<\/p>\n

Runner tracking is available via the marathon’s mobile app.<\/p>\n

The app includes “unlimited live race day runner tracking,” according to organizers.<\/p>\n

Spectators can even submit a digital cheer through the app for a chance to have their message displayed on the course as their participant goes by. <\/p>\n

This year\u2019s app also includes 11 “leaderboards,” which will allow users to find race leaders across all tracked categories, from the professional athlete field to the open field — all in real time. <\/p>\n

What time does the Chicago Marathon start and end?<\/p>\n

The Chicago Marathon\u00a0is scheduled to step off just after 7 a.m. CT on Oct. 12<\/a>\u00a0in Chicago’s Grant Park, though runners will take off in “waves” so their start times may differ.<\/p>\n

The course has a time limit of six hours and 30 minutes. At that point, roads will re-open to vehicles. In order to complete the full distance, runners must maintain an average pace of 15 minutes per mile.<\/a><\/p>\n
