Free student admission to the State Fair of Texas<\/a> will now include the final two weekends of the annual festivities<\/a> in Dallas\u2019 Fair Park. Tickets previously have only been valid on weekdays.<\/p>\n

Mitchell Glieber, the State Fair\u2019s president, said in a statement the move was in response to the difficulty families have in making it to the fairgrounds on a weekday.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy expanding the validity of these tickets, we hope to make it a little easier for parents and guardians to bring their kids out on one of the final weekends this year, when they\u2019re off work and can enjoy the day together,\u201d stated Glieber.<\/p>\n

Rumors have swirled on social media claiming attendance to the 2025 Texas state fair has been down<\/a>. Fair officials disagree, noting the fair\u2019s slowest days typically fall at the beginning of the event\u2019s 21 days. Some vendors concurred with fair officials, with sales ticking up since the fair began.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are coming to the fair,\u201d said Karissa Condoianis, a spokesperson for the State Fair. \u201cSo I would say don\u2019t always believe what you see.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year, the State Fair limited its free ticket program to pre-K through eighth grade students living within 100 miles of Fair Park. Formerly, high school students<\/a> received free tickets.<\/p>\n

The State Fair said 12.8 million students and teachers have utilized their free tickets since 2018.<\/p>\n

Glieber said the State Fair is \u201cnot immune to what\u2019s happening in the world,\u201d referencing the challenges people are facing in the current economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that rising costs and uncertainties affect everyone, and we want to make sure that a family\u2019s ability to enjoy the State Fair doesn\u2019t depend on their schedule or their budget<\/a> this year,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
