(Theodore Parisienne \/ New York Daily News)<\/p>\n<p>The building\u2019s 43rd floor, from which the glass fell, is undergoing alteration work, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/buildings\/index.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buildings<\/a> officials said. The floor was previously damaged during construction on Friday, those officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Contractors are currently working to seal up the floor, and DOB has issued a violation to general contractor JRM Contracting for failing to safeguard its construction site, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The Buildings Department has also issued a partial stop-work order covering the 43rd floor, and has ordered an engineering report about the other windows at the construction site.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the approaching nor\u2019easter and its ferocious winds, a DOB spokesman said the incident did not appear to be weather related.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"A glass pane, reportedly from the 30th floor, fell to the ground beneath the high-rise at 1345 6th Avenue in Manhattan on Sunday Oct. 12, 2025. 0831.
