A devastating plane crash<\/a> occurred in Tarrant County<\/a>, Texas, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The incident took place near Hicks Airfield, approximately 10 miles north of Fort Worth<\/a> Meacham International Airport.<\/p>\n

The plane crashed in the 12700 block of North Saginaw Boulevard, north of Fort Worth near Avondale, Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office officials reported. The aircraft collided with multiple parked tractor-trailers<\/a>, causing road closures and sending a thick, black plume of smoke into the sky.<\/p>\n

The Fort Worth Fire Department<\/a> confirmed that two people died in the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) identified the aircraft as a Beechcraft King Air C90 twin-engine plane, and FWFD reported that it had taken off from Alliance Airport. At least 10 tractor-trailers were damaged in the incident, according to the department.\"ETLive EventsThe department reported that firefighters<\/a> arrived at the scene within five minutes of the initial calls, and more than 60 personnel worked to extinguish the resulting fire within 35 minutes. Additional firefighters from Tarrant County, Haslet, Lake Worth, Saginaw, Newark, Eagle Mountain, and Blue Mound also responded, alongside officials from the Tarrant County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the FAA, and the NTSB.
According to WFAA<\/a> website, a witness who works at a nearby cafe told WFAA they heard a loud boom, and moments later, a customer ran inside telling them to call 911. They rushed to the scene and saw what appeared to be a plane that had collided with several parked 18-wheelers in a nearby lot. The flames were too intense for them to get any closer to the fire.
According to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the FAA is leading the investigation. The NTSB also confirmed it is investigating.
