Now, data miner and serial leaker \u2018Luna\u2019 has obtained images of what appears to be Meta\u2019s next pair of smart glasses, this time including a built-in display and wrist-worn controller.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/meta-report-ray-ban-smart-glasses-display-price-release-date\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">reported in January<\/a> that Meta was working on two new pairs of smart glasses: a sportier unit styled by Oakley\u2014officially confirmed last month\u2014and a\u00a0high-end pair, codenamed \u2018Hypernova\u2019, which features a built-in display and gesture control thanks to the an electromyography (EMG) based wrist-worn controller.<\/p>\n<p>Gurman\u2019s report alleged that Hypernova is slated to debut sometime this year, priced between $1,000 and $1,400. With the discovery of images and tutorials by Luna, it\u2019s possible Meta is in the final stages of prepping for launch.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Lunayian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Luna<\/a> posted a number of images and videos on X, including what appears to be product photos of Meta Hypernova and its wristband controller, codenamed \u2018Ceres\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GuuHs9HXgAA8-d4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden size-full wp-image-124109\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GuuHs9HXgAA8-d4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2550\" height=\"1551\"  \/><\/a>Image courtesy <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Lunayian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Luna<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ostensibly mined from recent Meta firmware releases, Luna says glasses will be named \u2018Meta Celeste\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Provided the \u2018Meta Celeste\u2019 naming scheme is final, it would suggest Meta is pitching solo, and not cross-promoting like it does with Ray-Ban Meta or Oakley Meta glasses.\u00a0Notably, \u2018Celeste\u2019 isn\u2019t a name used by any of the French-Italian conglomerate\u2019s various eyewear sub-brands.<\/p>\n<p>As seen in action with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/meta-orion-prototype-reveal-connect-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Meta\u2019s Orion AR glasses prototype<\/a>, the controller uses EMG to detect gestures, such as pinching and hand rotation for UI selection\u2014something touch and voice input can\u2019t really do that well.
