PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — It’s been seven years since a man was gunned down in West Philadelphia. Now, his family is seeking help in finding justice for their loved one.<\/p>\n
43-year-old Wilfred Johnson was gunned down back on September 10th, 2018, but his case remains unsolved.<\/p>\n
“This loss has been very devastating to the family.. and to me,” says Priscilla Johnson and Ayana Williams, Wilfred’s mother and sister.<\/p>\n
Johnson was an avid Eagles fan, and worked as a driver for SEPTA. He was just arriving at home around 8:45 p.m. on the unit block of North Millick Street in West Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
He was shot multiple times in the back, and never made it inside.<\/p>\n
Johnson would die from his injuries a half hour later.<\/p>\n
“I can’t understand how someone can walk away and not think about it,” says Williams.<\/p>\n
The Citizens Crime Commission is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.<\/p>\n
TWU Local 234 has added another $5,000 to make that reward worth a total of $25,000.<\/p>\n
“I’m at peace with my son’s death but I’d still like justice.”<\/p>\n
Johnson’s mother, Priscilla, says she has found a soothing outlet for her pain.<\/p>\n
“God did bless me with a grief ministry that I now joined in the legacy of my son. It was very painful but it helped me to get through my grief,” says Johnson.<\/p>\n
That ministry is called “Grieving With Hope”.<\/p>\n
It meets every second Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Esperanza Community Center on the 4400 block of North 6th Street in North Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
