(Photo: Thomas Villanueva)<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Sleat may be a new guy on the NCAA block, but the versatile guard is wasting no time proving he belongs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The transferee from Far Eastern University has been nothing short of steady and solid for University of Perpetual Help System DALTA as he helped the ALTAs race to a roaring 4-0 start in the NCAA Season 101.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Perpetual remains the lone unbeaten team in the league after taking down San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Arellano University, and, the biggest fish of them all, defending champion Mapua University.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All of those games saw Sleat pump in crucial numbers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In their opener against the Golden Stags, Sleat impressed with 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, five steals, and one block to mark his NCAA debut with a 67-54 victory. He then posted nine markers, four boards, three dimes, one steal, and one block in their 73-61 win over the Pirates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Against the reigning champions Cardinals, Sleat dazzled with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds laced with five assists, three blocks, and one block as they stunned Mapua, 75-65.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sleat continued his consistent showing by scattering 12 points, three rebounds, three blocks, one assist, and one steal to lead their 72-67 escape against the gritty Chiefs last Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With his impressive numbers, Sleat has been named the inaugural Collegiate Press Corps NCAA Player of the Week this season, edging out his teammate Mark Gojo Cruz, San Beda&#8217;s Janti Miller, JRU&#8217;s Sean Salvador, Mapua&#8217;s JC Recto, and Benilde&#8217;s Justine Sanchez for the citation.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old Sleat admitted he felt at home in Perpetual, especially with head coach Olsen Racela, his former coach at FEU, calling the shots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHalos same lang din pinapatakbo rito [sa Perpetual]. May mga konting lang na adjustments,\u201d Sleat said.<\/p>\n<p>Even Racela lauded Sleat\u2019s veteran presence, saying his trusted guard will be a key cog for the rest of their campaign this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Yung [experience] ang kailangan namin last year.
