She quickly noticed a gap in mentorship opportunities for young girls \u2014 particularly those who lacked role models who looked like them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cI saw a void in mentorship,\u201d she said. \u201cGirls didn\u2019t have relationships with mentors who reflected their experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elexia Coleman-Moss, a Cuban American and founder of Empowerment Resources Inc., has spent decades mentoring at-risk girls and families in Northeast Florida.
