(File photo courtesy of San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce)<\/p>\n<p>More than a hundred local business and community leaders are in <a href=\"https:\/\/sdchamber.org\/event\/2025cdmx\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mexico City<\/a> as part of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce\u2019s 19th annual Binational Delegation to Mexico City.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders will \u201cadvocate for U.S.-Mexico relations and address critical issues vital to the binational business community at a key moment of political transition in Mexico,\u201d a chamber statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Those from the U.S. side of the border include San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, Chula Vista Mayor John McCann, Coronado Mayor John Duncan, and National City Mayor Ron Morrison, as well as San Diego City Councilmembers Marni von Wilpert, Vivian Moreno and Stephen Whitburn and Chula Vista City Councilmembers Carolina Chavez, Michael Inzunza, and Cesar Fernandez.<\/p>\n<p>The group is meeting with Mexican leaders and government officials to help \u201cstrengthen economic ties and explore collaboration opportunities\u201d while in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBringing together leaders from both sides of the border for this trip is essential to strengthening our regional economy,\u201d said Chris Cate, president and chief executive officer of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sdchamber.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese conversations in Mexico City give us the chance to directly advocate for the priorities that matter most to our region\u2019s businesses and families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we show up as a united, binational delegation, it underscores the unique role our region plays in driving prosperity and opportunity across Cali-Baja.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Events for the group include a reception at U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson\u2019s residence and discussions with representatives from the Mexican Senate and the secretaries of tourism from Mexico and Baja California.<\/p>\n<p>READ NEXT<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A group photo with the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico at a meeting.
