San Antonio\u2019s Trinity University is among the nation\u2019s 100 best colleges and universities, according to a new study by personal finance blog WalletHub<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

WalletHub\u2019s list, which ranks the top-performing schools at the lowest possible costs to undergraduates, compared nearly 800 U.S. higher-education institutions across 30 key metrics, including student-loan default rates, graduation rates and post-graduation median salary.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Researchers then grouped the data into multiple categories to rank the top 500 colleges and universities. The data groups include student selectivity rate, cost and financing, faculty resources, campus safety and campus experience.<\/p>\n

With those metrics in mind, Trinity ranked as the nation\u2019s 62nd-best higher-ed institution. <\/p>\n

Trinity was the only school in San Antonio to make WalletHub\u2019s list, and it was also among just three Texas schools to make the top 100. Rice University came in at No. 9, and the University of Texas at Austin landed at No. 58.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With an acceptance rate of only about 26%, Trinity University ranked in the top quartile when it came to student selectivity. Despite enrolling fewer than 3,000 students, the campus also ranked high in faculty resources, education outcomes and career outcomes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With an annual cost of $56,496, Trinity ranked near the bottom of the list in terms of affordability. The school also placed poorly on campus safety, according to WalletHub.\u00a0<\/p>\n
