Credit: Instagram \/ goodkindsouthtown<\/p>\n<p>After six years in operation, Southtown dining fixture The Good Kind has officially closed its doors<\/p>\n<p>Chef-owner Tim McDiarmid confirmed the closure to the Current on Monday, citing a \u201ccombination of reasons,\u201d including burnout and family circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>McDiarmid launched The Good Kind in 2017 at the Pearl before relocating to Southtown two years later. A year prior, she had launched Ivy Hall, an event space housed in the former home of The Monterey on South St. Mary\u2019s Street. <\/p>\n<p>The second iteration of The Good Kind began serving in 2019 on the same property and quickly earned a loyal following for its lush garden patio, health-conscious fare and steady lineup of community events.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, the restaurant and event space racked up numerous accolades and became a Southtown staple. <\/p>\n<p>McDiarmid told the Current she has \u201cno plans for opening another restaurant,\u201d adding that she\u2019s now focused full-time on her coaching and consulting venture, The Bravery Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>McDiarmid first entered San Antonio\u2019s culinary scene in 2011 with Tim the Girl Catering, known for its fresh, healthy, farm-to-table dishes with an emphasis on local ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Both Ivy Hall and Tim the Girl Catering remain open and in operation, although now under new management.<\/p>\n<p
