SAN ANTONIO \u2014 A former professor at the University of Incarnate Word was handed down a 30 year sentence on Monday for possession of child pornography.<\/p>\n

According to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, Troy Mishler was sentenced for one count of possession of child pornography of a child younger than ten years of age, more than 500 visual depictions, and an additional count of possession of child pornography video. <\/p>\n

Investigators say during a church conference trip in Nebraska, Mishler confessed to a counselor that he had an addiction to child sexual abuse material and being sexually aroused by his adoptive daughters. Following his confession, a church member contacted Child Protective Services, who reported the information to its Texas agency counterpart.<\/p>\n

Authorities investigated Mishler\u2019s home and work, where more than 500 images and videos of child sex abuse material were discovered on both his personal and work computers. <\/p>\n
