{"id":301094,"date":"2025-10-13T23:04:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T23:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/301094\/"},"modified":"2025-10-13T23:04:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T23:04:10","slug":"bear-grabs-a-bite-to-eat-behind-ktla-reporter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/301094\/","title":{"rendered":"Bear grabs a bite to eat behind KTLA reporter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">KTLA\u2019s Erin Myers was in Altadena Monday morning to report on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/significant-rain-possible-thunderstorms-hail-045554560.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:a coming rainstorm;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a coming rainstorm<\/a>, but an unexpected visitor stole the show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As Myers discussed preparations for a possible flood, a bear climbed on top of trash cans behind her, grabbed a trash bag out of one of the cans and took off to enjoy its meal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cA bear watch and a storm watch here in Altadena, so a lot going on this morning,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Southern California is populated by <a href=\"https:\/\/altadenaheritage.org\/ursus-americanus-californiensis\/#:~:text=Ursus%20americanus%20californiensis%20%7C%20Altadena%20Heritage,as%20much%20as%20660%20pounds.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:black bears;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">black bears<\/a>, which are omnivores whose <a href=\"https:\/\/bearsaver.com\/blogs\/news\/understanding-bears-attraction-to-trash\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:diets include trash;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">diets include trash<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIt happens to be trash day.
