NHL free agency opens on Tuesday, and the Dallas Stars<\/a> are preparing to put some final touches on the roster.<\/p>\n

After reaching the Western Conference finals in three consecutive years and firing head coach Pete DeBoer<\/a> earlier this month, the Stars are looking to reload heading into the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n

Dallas has already made a handful of moves with its own players since the season ended, such as re-signing captain Jamie Benn. But there is still some money left<\/a> to be spent.<\/p>\n

2025 NHL free agency <\/p>\n

– The 2025 NHL free agency market opens at 11 a.m. CT on Tuesday, July 1. The vast majority of moves will be made that day before the NHL largely goes quiet until training camp.<\/p>\n

The Stars have $1.76 million in cap space to sign three depth forwards. Wouldn\u2019t be surprised if they made some moves on the blue line as well, but with seven defensemen under contract, it would likely require a trade.<\/p>\n

Stars\u2019 offseason moves<\/p>\n

– Re-signed Matt Duchene<\/a> to a four-year deal that pays him $4.5 million next season.<\/p>\n

– Traded Mason Marchment<\/a> to Seattle in exchange for draft picks.<\/p>\n

– Re-signed Nils Lundkvist<\/a> to a one-year deal worth $1.25 million.<\/p>\n

– Re-signed Mavrik Bourque<\/a> to a one-year deal worth $950,000.<\/p>\n

– Re-signed Jamie Benn<\/a> to a one-year deal worth $1 million, plus incentives.<\/p>\n
