PHOENIX \u2014 A man trapped in a Phoenix canal as heavy rain and storms raged overhead on Monday has been rescued, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Crews with the Phoenix Fire Department responded to the area of 13th Street and Indian School road to find the man in the canal, which was flooded with around 3 feet of water.<\/p>\n

The man told rescue crews he had fallen into the canal and couldn\u2019t get out.<\/p>\n

Firefighters used a ground ladder, which he used to climb out on his own, authorities said.<\/p>\n

He is in stable condition and was being brought to a local hospital for further evaluation as a precaution, authorities said around 4:15 p.m.<\/p>\n
