The Alliance development is a bellwether of the economic shifts within Texas and remains at the forefront of the state\u2019s financial success, the acting comptroller said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alliance led the way as the state shifted from an oil and gas and agricultural economy to one more focused on finance and manufacturing, acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock said, a former state senator from North Richland Hills. He discussed the impact of the north Fort Worth business corridor during a visit to the area on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFor manufacturers, this is where you want to be,\u201d Hancock said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Lone Star State\u2019s chief financial officer is visiting different areas of Texas to highlight the economic impact of the state\u2019s 32 official ports of entry.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hancock recalled driving through what\u2019s now Alliance when he was younger and seeing only farm and ranch land. The area has changed just as Texas has, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alliance is now home to more than 574 companies with 58 million square feet of office, retail and industrial space.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve now got Charles Schwab, Fidelity up here,\u201d said Ross Perot Jr., chairman of Hillwood, the developer behind the Alliance project.<\/p>\n

Hillwood officials estimated that Alliance has created 66,000 direct jobs, Hancock said. His office\u2019s research put that number at about 136,780 for direct and indirect jobs created last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Perot said Hillwood is seeing new demand for manufacturing projects from all over the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In August, Alliance was named as the manufacturing site for two plants from Taiwan-based Wistron<\/a>, a supplier to AI chip manufacturer Nvidia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alliance\u2019s gross domestic product, or the value of goods and services produced in the area, was $16.3 billion last year, according to the comptroller\u2019s report.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 27,000-acre mixed-use development \u2014 which includes Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport \u2014 was busy with cargo and aerospace activity in 2024, according to a Hillwood report.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Perot and Hancock both said Alliance is preparing the state for the future with projects such as the Mobility Innovation Zone, which provides an area for companies to do pilot projects involving drones and autonomous vehicles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re certainly not done,\u201d Perot said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
