On Monday, Mizzou men’s golf started off the Moraine Intercollegiate strong in Dayton, Ohio, ending Day 1 in first place out of 14 teams.<\/p>\n
The team played two rounds, leading with a score of 21-under 547 after Round 2. The first round score of 269 is tied as the fourth-best round score in program history .<\/p>\n
Leading not only the Tigers, but all golfers in first place on the individual scoreboard was junior Veikka Viskari, hitting an 8-under 134. In the first 18-hole round, he carded the best round in his career so far, shooting 9-under 62, and tied for the second-best round in Mizzou history.<\/p>\n
One stroke behind Viskari in second place was junior Bradley Mulder, who shot 7-under. He is tied in second with Illinois’ Dujuan Snyman.<\/p>\n
The Tigers will tee off the third and final round at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Columbia College men’s golf in second and women’s in fifth at Statesmen Invitational<\/p>\n
Both the men’s and women’s Columbia College golf teams finished round one of the Statesmen Invitational in Silvis, Illinois, on Monday.<\/p>\n
The men’s team finished the first round in second place behind Central Iowa. As a team, the Cougars carded a 14-over 298.<\/p>\n
Leading the Cougars and tied for first are junior Landon Mabe and sophomore Teagen Hull. Each shooting a 72.<\/p>\n
The women’s team ended the day in fifth out of nine teams, carding 61-over 349.<\/p>\n
Senior Camryn Swinfard leads the women’s team in third place after shooting 7-over 79.<\/p>\n
