{"id":302009,"date":"2025-10-14T07:07:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T07:07:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/302009\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T07:07:18","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T07:07:18","slug":"wild-double-play-creates-chaos-in-dodgers-brewers-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/302009\/","title":{"rendered":"Wild double play creates chaos in Dodgers-Brewers game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was absolute chaos in Milwaukee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A wild sequence of events played out in the top of the fourth inning when Brewers center fielder Sal Frelick had a home run-robbing catch pop out of his glove, creating one of the wackiest postseason moments in recent memory.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the bases loaded and Dodgers infielder Max Muncy at the plate and one out, he hit a long ball towards the center field wall, sending Frelick on a chase. The outfielder snagged the ball at the wall, but it popped out before he was able to gain full control of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dodgers right fielder Teoscar Hernandez (37) is out at home plate as Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras (24) fields the ball in the fourth inning. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect<\/p>\n<p>Frelick quickly flung the ball to shortstop Joey Ortiz, who whipped the ball to catcher William Contreras in time to get Teoscar Hernandez on the force out at home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Brewers completed the miraculous double-play by getting Will Smith out at third for the final out of the inning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Frelick, likely mirroring just about everyone watching at home and at American Family Field, looked stunned and was trying to process what just happened before cracking a smile after realizing what just occurred.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Dodgers challenged the call, but after a review, the umps ruled the call on the field stood, confirming the force outs at home plate and third base.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sal Frelick #10 of the Milwaukee Brewers waits for the result of a challenge during the fourth inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
