\"'Sunny arun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor<\/a>\u2019s romantic comedy \u2018Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari\u2019, which also stars Sanya Malhotra<\/a> and Rohit Saraf<\/a>, hit theatres on October 2 \u2014 the same day as Rishab Shetty\u2019s \u2018Kantara: Chapter 1\u2019. The box office clash was always expected to be one-sided, given that \u2018Kantara\u2019 is part of a blockbuster franchise with a much bigger scale and pan-India appeal. While the 2022 original became a cultural phenomenon, the new prequel has gone even further, smashing all previous records. Adding to the advantage, \u2018Kantara: Chapter 1\u2019 released in five languages \u2014 Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam \u2014 ensuring a far wider reach compared to \u2018Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari\u2019.\u2018SSKTK\u2019 took off with a respectable \u20b99.25 crore on its opening day but dropped to \u20b95.5 crore on Friday. Over the weekend, the film regained some momentum, earning \u20b97.5 crore each on Saturday and Sunday. However, from Monday onwards, the numbers began to slide, settling into the \u20b92\u20133 crore range through the week. On Tuesday, thanks to discounted ticket prices, it managed \u20b93.25 crore, followed by \u20b92.25 crore on Wednesday and \u20b92 crore on Thursday, bringing its first-week total to \u20b941.1 crore.The second weekend saw marginal improvement \u20b92.25 crore on Friday, \u20b93.25 crore on Saturday (day 10), and around \u20b93 crore on Sunday (day 11). Monday (day 12) witnessed the expected dip, with the film earning \u20b91.15 crore. Interestingly, \u2018Kantara\u2019 too experienced a sharp decline on the same day, though at a much higher scale. On second Tuesday, which is day 13, it has made Rs 1.40 crore. As per Sacnilk, the total collection of \u2018Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari\u2019 now stands at \u20b952.60 crore, while \u2018Kantara: Chapter 1\u2019 has soared past \u20b9450 crore by its 12th day.
