{"id":30425,"date":"2025-07-01T17:36:21","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T17:36:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/30425\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T17:36:21","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T17:36:21","slug":"muertos-fest-to-remain-at-hemisfair-announces-dates-through-next-10-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/30425\/","title":{"rendered":"Muertos Fest to remain at Hemisfair, announces dates through next 10 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 One of the largest D\u00eda de los Muertos celebrations in the nation is remaining in downtown San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Under a newly signed 10-year agreement, Muertos Fest will continue to call Hemisfair home through 2034.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cThis beloved celebration has grown into a nationally recognized event that brings our city and community together in a powerful, joyful way,\u201d District 1 councilmember Sukh Kaur said in a news release. \u201cThere\u2019s no better place to honor Day of the Dead than right here at Hemisfair in the heart of San Antonio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Founded in 2013, the free, annual two-day celebration invites people to gather for two days of music, art, and remembrance in honor of loved ones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The 2025 event will be hosted on Oct. 25 and 26.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><b>KSAT will be capturing the sights and sounds of the festival, and replay the event on air and on KSAT+ October 29.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Organizers also announced the festival dates for the next ten years:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 24-25, 2026<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 23-24, 2027<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 28-29, 2028<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 27-28, 2029<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 26\u201327, 2030<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 25\u201326, 2031<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 23\u201324, 2032<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 29\u201330, 2033<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Oct. 28\u201329, 2034<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The festival also announced an expanded partnership with the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico &#8211; San Antonio to elevate the educational opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Students from the UNAM School of Architecture in Mexico City will travel to San Antonio to construct a large ofrenda to honor the San Antonio Chili Queens, a group of pioneering women who transformed the city plazas into culinary and cultural hubs in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Festival programming and entertainment lineups will be announced later this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><b>Relive Muertos Fest 2024 with KSAT:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2025 by KSAT &#8211;
