Kathy Hochul slammed the DHS chief over the \u201cfalse\u201d and \u201cnakedly partisan\u201d message.<\/p>\n<p>John F. Kennedy International, LaGuardia, and New Jersey\u2019s Newark Liberty International airports joined a growing list of travel hubs nationwide blocking <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/08\/us-news\/noem-warns-far-left-antifa-is-just-as-sophisticated-as-ms-13-hamas-they-have-an-agenda-to-destroy-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the 36-second clip<\/a> from broadcasting on TSA checkpoints due to its \u201cpolitically partisan\u201d remarks,\u201d according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Kristi Noem isn\u2019t busy trying to defund the police in New York, she\u2019s apparently hard at work subjecting travelers to obviously false and nakedly partisan messaging,\u201d Hochul, a Democrat, said in a statement to The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government,\u201d Noem says in the PSA. ERIK S LESSER\/EPA\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere in New York, we\u2019ll stay focused on keeping the flying public safe \u2013 and that means not playing political ads in our airports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fiery clip, warning of disruptions and staffing shortages amid the shutdown, won\u2019t be shown at any Empire State airports run by state agencies or authorities, a government source added.<\/p>\n<p>The Port Authority \u2013 which also runs Stewart International Airport in Newburgh and Teterboro Airport in the Garden State \u2013 said Noem\u2019s video violates its \u201clongstanding policies\u201d banning political content from airing on airport-controlled screens.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Noem,<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/08\/us-news\/transportation-secretary-sean-duffy-urges-air-traffic-controllers-to-show-up-for-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> who oversees the Transportation Security Administration<\/a> (TSA), sent the video to every public US airport last week to play at TSA checkpoints.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>New York Gov. Kathy Hochul blasted Noem for the \u201cfalse\u201d and \u201cpartisan\u2019 video. However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government,\u201d Noem<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MizellPreston\/status\/1976340455446266232\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> says in the video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd because of this, many of our operations are impacted and most of our TSA employees are working without pay,\u201d the DHS secretary adds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to do all that we can to avoid delays that will impact your travel,\u201d Noem continues. \u201cAnd our hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The partial government shutdown began on Oct. 1, after all but three Senate Democrats refused to vote for a continuing resolution that would\u2019ve kept Washington funded through Nov. 21.<\/p>\n<p>Travelers walk past an \u201cI Love New York\u201d sign at LaGuardia Airport.
